The Holy Cross Church in Holzhausen near Alling is a typical small village church of Upper Bavaria. Gothic at its core and dating to the 13th century, it was remodelled in the Baroque style towards the end of the 17th century, which is clearly reflected in the interior decoration. It is dedicated to the Cross of Christ, which according to tradition was rediscovered by Saint Helena, mother of Emperor Constantine. The church is protected as a listed building. It embodies the typical image of a rural Bavarian parish church that carries the architectural styles of several centuries.
