The Kazachye Cemetery, formerly known as Communist Square, is a historic burial ground within the Alexander Nevsky Lavra in Saint Petersburg — one of Russia's most significant Orthodox monastery complexes. The inner cemetery is one of four burial sites on the monastery grounds and holds the graves of clergy, scholars, and military figures. Surrounded by Baroque walls and shaded by old trees, it carries a quieter, more forgotten atmosphere than the famous celebrity cemeteries of the Lavra.
