Laboratorio Aperto di Ferrara (ex Teatro Verdi)

The Laboratorio Aperto di Ferrara — formerly the Teatro Verdi — is a repurposed 19th-century theatre in central Ferrara, protected as an Italian national monument. Originally named after Giuseppe Verdi and built during the Risorgimento era as a traditional opera and performance house, it has since been transformed into an open civic cultural centre hosting exhibitions, workshops, and community events. The building retains its characteristic 19th-century theatre architecture while its interior programme has been adapted for contemporary public use — a notable example of adaptive reuse of historic urban infrastructure.
