Founded in 1926, the Galleria d'arte moderna di Bologna served for eight decades as the city's principal institution for modern art, housing significant works from 20th-century Italian modernism. In 2007 it was reconstituted as the Museo d'arte moderna di Bologna — known as MAMbo — and relocated to a new home in a former exhibition complex on Via Don Minzoni. The original gallery no longer exists under this name; visitors seeking the collection today will find it at MAMbo.
