Bologna Centrale is the main railway station of Bologna and one of Italy's most strategically placed rail hubs, sitting midway between Milan and Rome on the Po Plain. It links routes crossing the Apennines and running along the Adriatic coast, with several lines forming part of the broader Berlin–Palermo rail axis. In practice it functions primarily as a transfer point, served by high-speed Frecciarossa and Frecciabianca trains alongside regional services throughout Emilia-Romagna. The station is fully wheelchair accessible.
