Lynn Canyon Suspension Bridge

Lynn Canyon Suspension Bridge is a free-swinging pedestrian bridge of steel cables and wooden planks suspended roughly 50 metres above Lynn Creek in North Vancouver's Lynn Canyon Park. The 48-metre span was built privately in 1912, making it one of British Columbia's oldest surviving suspension bridges — erected just as settlement of the coastal rainforest north of Vancouver was beginning. Unlike the nearby commercial Capilano Suspension Bridge, entry is completely free, a fact that has given it near-legendary status among locals as the honest alternative. The surrounding park offers hiking trails past wild cascades, natural swimming pools in the creek below, and dense old-growth Douglas fir. The bridge's genuine sway above the canyon drop delivers a visceral high-bridge experience without the crowds.
