Mediapark

Mediapark is a business and media quarter built in the 1990s on a former freight railway yard in the northwestern part of Cologne's city center. The development was deliberately positioned to attract media and communications companies as part of a broader urban regeneration effort — TV broadcaster VOX is among its tenants. The quarter is defined architecturally by the KölnTurm, a 148-meter glass office tower completed in 1998 whose slender silhouette is visible from much of the city. Beyond its architecture and status as a media-industry hub, the area offers little for visitors without a professional connection to the sector.
