Main Tower

Liked by

The Main Tower is the only skyscraper in Frankfurt's banking district with a publicly accessible observation deck, sitting 200 meters above street level on the 54th floor. Completed in 1999 by the firm Schweger und Partner and inaugurated on 28 January 2000, it was among Germany's tallest buildings at opening and today shares the fifth-place ranking with Tower 185. Its distinctive cylindrical glass-and-steel facade is a textbook example of late-1990s German postmodern high-rise architecture. The platform delivers a 360-degree panorama across the Frankfurt skyline, the Taunus hills, and on clear days to the Odenwald. In summer, the rooftop bar stays open into the late evening — one of the few places in Frankfurt where you can drink with the skyline at eye level rather than below.

One of the few German skyscrapers with a publicly accessible roof terrace.
