Otto-Koenig-Warte

The Otto-Koenig-Warte is a wooden observation tower tucked into the Viennese Woods (Wienerwald), named after Austrian ethologist and nature filmmaker Otto König (1914–1991), who led the Wilhelminenberg Biological Institute and did much to bring the Wienerwald's wildlife to public attention. The tower sits off the main hiking corridors, making it a quiet find favored by locals rather than organized tour groups. On clear days the platform offers views across parts of Vienna and the surrounding wooded hills — a rewarding stop on a longer forest walk.
