Schiessentümpel

The Schiessentümpel is a compact waterfall tucked into the sandstone forests of the Mullerthal — Luxembourg's so-called 'Little Switzerland' — framed by a low three-arched stone footbridge that gives the scene an almost theatrical, fairy-tale quality. Visitors frequently describe the combination of mossy rocks, overhanging forest and cascading water as having a distinct 'Lord of the Rings' atmosphere. The site sits along the marked Mullerthal Trail, reachable via a 15-minute walk from a small roadside car park. The natural pool at the base is cold but swimmable in summer, the path is dog-friendly, and the surrounding trail network offers additional rock formations and viewpoints for those wanting a longer outing.
