Seffent mit Wilkensberg

The Seffent mit Wilkensberg nature reserve is a compact green corridor on the western edge of Aachen, tucked between the Seffent residential quarter and RWTH Aachen's Melaten campus. Despite sitting entirely within city limits, the reserve offers undisturbed meadow paths and dense hedgerow vegetation — a genuine natural contrast to the surrounding urban fabric. From several points along the trails, the imposing rear elevation of the Aachen University Hospital comes into view, perched on higher ground above the greenery. It functions primarily as a local after-work escape rather than a destination attraction, best suited for a short, unhurried walk.
