Uzengi vadisi

Üzengi Valley sits in the Cappadocian triangle between Ürgüp, Ortahisar, and Mustafapaşa, carved out by the small Üzengi stream. Far less visited than the main Göreme hiking corridors, the valley offers the same characteristic tufa rock formations alongside clusters of dovecotes — chambers chiseled into the cliffs centuries ago to collect pigeon dung as fertilizer. A marked spring along the route carries a folk reputation for relieving kidney and gallstones, drawing local visitors who seek it out specifically. The trail also accommodates mountain bikes, and the combination of open rock panoramas and the narrow green valley floor makes for a rewarding half-day outing away from the crowds.
