The panorama of Love Valley sits at the edge of Göreme in the heart of Cappadocia, offering an open view across one of the region's most distinctive landscapes. The valley takes its name from its columnar tufa formations — created by volcanic ash deposits and millions of years of wind erosion — that rise up to 15 meters from the valley floor. The same geological forces shaped all of Cappadocia's otherworldly terrain, but Love Valley concentrates the effect in a single dramatic sweep. The viewpoint is particularly rewarding at sunset, when the pale rock pillars turn amber, and serves as the starting point for hiking trails that descend directly between the formations.
