Meskendir Valley Viewpoint
TranquilityPanoramic ViewHiking Trail

This trailhead marks the start and end point for hikes through Rose Valley near Göreme, one of the most visually striking valleys in Turkey's Cappadocian volcanic landscape. The valley takes its name from the warm rose hue that iron-rich tuff rock emits in certain light — at dusk the canyon walls glow in deep shades of red and ochre. The trail is commonly combined with the adjacent Red Valley as a loop, passing through a sequence of free-standing fairy chimneys, rock-carved stairways, and open viewpoints over the Göreme plain. Visitor reports highlight the density of spectacular formations along the route, so allow at least two to three hours for the full loop.
