Barmer Spitze

The Barmer Spitze is a high-alpine summit in the Rieserfernergruppe range, sitting precisely on the state border between Austria (East Tyrol) and Italy (South Tyrol). The Rieserfernergruppe is one of the quieter massifs in the Central Alps — a glaciated, remote area with long approach routes and minimal tourist infrastructure, favored by experienced alpinists. The ascent demands high-mountain competence and proper equipment, with starting points accessible from both the Austrian and Italian sides. On clear days the summit offers sweeping views across the Zillertal Alps and the Dolomites deep into the Alpine main ridge.
