Birkkarspitze

At 2,749 metres, the Birkkarspitze is the highest summit in the Karwendel range, forming a rugged massif together with the three Ödkarspitzen at the heart of the Hinterautal-Vomper chain. The most common ascent route runs via the Karwendelhaus mountain hut and demands sure-footedness and alpine experience, with sections of easy scrambling near the summit ridge. From the top, clear days yield sweeping panoramas across the Northern Limestone Alps, deep into the Inn valley, and as far as the Central Alps. The peak sits well beyond any tourist infrastructure, making genuine alpine solitude the defining experience here.
