Bärenkopf

The Bärenkopf is a 1,991-metre summit in the southeastern Karwendel range, situated south of Pertisau on Lake Achensee in Tyrol. Its slopes are composed of sedimentary rock characteristic of the Karwendel's layered tectonic structure, and clear days reward the ascent with sweeping views over the Achensee and neighboring Karwendel and Rofan ridgelines. Moderately demanding hiking routes approach from Pertisau and the Hall in Tirol area; the mountain sees comparatively light foot traffic, making it a quieter alternative to the more heavily visited Karwendel peaks.
