Unterhof Castle

Unterhof Castle stands on the Rhine riverbank in Diessenhofen, canton of Thurgau, its distinctive tower marking the northwestern edge of the town's medieval old town. Classified as a particularly valuable heritage monument by the canton, the castle reflects the strategic importance of this Rhine crossing point during the Middle Ages. Today the tower is a defining feature of the Diessenhofen skyline and is best appreciated from the riverside path, which offers views across the Rhine toward the German town of Gailingen.
