Neo-Gothic cathedral from 1893, serving as Hamburg's Catholic archdiocesan seat since 1995.
Domkirche St. Marien in Hamburg's Sankt Georg district has been the cathedral of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Hamburg since 1995. The neo-Gothic brick building was completed in 1893 and is a listed cultural monument. Its distinctive tower silhouette is a neighbourhood landmark close to the main railway station. The church combines a metropolitan place of worship with an active parish community — a living centre of faith in the heart of the Hanseatic city.
