Fernmeldemuseum Aachen

The Fernmeldemuseum Aachen dedicates 360 square metres to the history of German communications technology, spanning telegraph equipment from 1863 to the digital switching systems of the 1980s Bundespost era. Founded on 1 July 1997 and run by a volunteer support association, the museum is housed within Telekom premises in Aachen. Its collection focuses on hardware used by the Deutsche Bundespost and its predecessor and successor organisations — including exchange systems, teleprinters, and early telephone equipment. Admission is free; the museum opens regularly on Mondays, with visits at other times available by appointment.
