Fontana vecchia

The Fontana Vecchia is a mid-16th-century fountain in Bologna, dating to 1550 and protected as an Italian national monument. Built during the height of the Bolognese Renaissance, its nickname — 'the old fountain' — situates it deliberately against the city's more celebrated Fountain of Neptune, completed just a decade later. Today it serves as a quiet landmark in the urban fabric, away from Bologna's main tourist corridors.
