Göreme. The best view point

This rough hilltop above Göreme offers one of the most open views across Cappadocia's tuff landscape, especially during balloon season when dozens of hot-air balloons rise simultaneously over the fairy chimneys at dawn. The walk up is short but crosses unmanaged terrain: multiple recent visitors report encountering packs of aggressive stray dogs along the route, which can make the approach genuinely hazardous. The spot is most rewarding at golden hour, when the low light catches the ochre tuff formations and the valley below in full.
