Rose Valley 2 Trailhead
The Rose Valley 2 Trailhead sits on the edge of Cappadocia's Red-Rose Valley system near Göreme, serving as the starting point for one of the region's most popular hikes. The valley takes its name from a well-documented optical phenomenon: as sunset approaches, the iron-oxide-rich tuff rock shifts from golden yellow through orange to a deep, soft rose — a transformation that is difficult to photograph convincingly and best experienced in person. The trail is rated easy and pairs naturally with the adjacent Red Valley; one bottle of water is enough, as a small café operates along the route. Visitors should check recent reports before setting out: some hikers have encountered access disputes at the trailhead and vandalized trail markers that make a GPS map essential for navigation.
