The Göreme welcome sign is a simple roadside marker at the entrance to the village, set against Cappadocia's iconic tuff-rock fairy chimneys. On clear mornings, hot-air balloons drift directly overhead, making it a popular spot for a quick photo before heading into the valley. There is little else to linger for, but the surrounding landscape — volcanic columns shaped over millions of years — provides the real backdrop worth pausing for.
