Ta' Qali National Park

Ta' Qali National Park occupies part of the former RAF Ta' Kali airfield in central Malta, a site that served as a frontline fighter base during World War II. A major regeneration launched in 2020 is transforming the roughly 350,000 m² grounds into one of Malta's largest green-infrastructure projects, with formal gardens, nature trails, picnic areas, a dog park, and a petting farm. Food trucks and artisan workshops line the edges of the park, and the open-air concert arena draws large crowds for festivals throughout the year. It functions less as a quiet retreat and more as a lively community hub — the kind of place where weekend picnickers, dog walkers, and craft shoppers all share the same lawns.
