Aiguille des Grands Montets
The Aiguille des Grands Montets rises to 3,295 metres in the Mont Blanc massif of the French Haute-Savoie and is one of the Alps' most celebrated freeride and ski mountaineering destinations. The Grand Montets cable car, which once carried skiers and alpinists to 3,275 metres in minutes, is currently undergoing a full reconstruction and is expected to reopen in the coming years. From the summit, the panorama sweeps across the Argentière glacier and the surrounding peaks toward Mont Blanc itself. Until the lift reopens, the peak remains accessible to experienced alpinists via classic high-mountain routes, while the long off-piste descents over snowfields and glacier passages continue to draw seasoned freeriders.
