Bleaklow Head

Bleaklow Head sits at roughly 633 metres above sea level, making it one of the highest points in the Peak District, on a broad and largely trackless peat plateau east of Glossop in northern England. It lies within the Dark Peak, a landscape defined by blanket bog, cotton grass, and exposed gritstone — terrain that turns navigational challenge into the main event when low cloud rolls in. The Pennine Way, England's oldest long-distance footpath, crosses the plateau, and experienced walkers still recommend map and compass over GPS here, as the featureless moorland disorients easily. On clear days the summit rewards with sweeping views across the surrounding hill ranges.
