Bletsoe Castle

Bletsoe Castle is the ruin of a late medieval fortified manor house in the village of Bletsoe, Bedfordshire, about 10 kilometres north of Bedford. Built around 1327, the estate passed to the St. John family in the 15th century — the same family that produced Margaret Beaufort, mother of Henry VII and a pivotal figure in the Wars of the Roses. Only fragmentary wall sections survive today, protected as a Grade II* listed structure. The site rewards a quiet detour into rural Bedfordshire but has no visitor facilities or formal access infrastructure.
