Lisbon

Museum of modern and contemporary Portuguese art by the Gulbenkian Foundation (1983), with a landmark building and sculpture garden in Lisbon.

The Centro de Arte Moderna José de Azeredo Perdigão — known as CAM — is the museum of modern and contemporary art of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation in Lisbon. Opened in 1983 on the foundation's park-like grounds, it houses one of the most significant collections of Portuguese art from the 20th and 21st centuries. The light-filled building of concrete and glass is itself an architectural highlight. Alongside paintings and sculptures, it holds applied arts, design and photography. The surrounding sculpture garden invites visitors to linger.
