Die Pyramide

Die Pyramide is a high-rise completed in 1995 at the corner of Rhinstrasse and Landsberger Allee in Berlin's Marzahn-Hellersdorf district. The Dueren-based Fundus Group put up the postmodern office tower in the post-reunification boom for about 145 million euros, betting on Marzahn as a new East German business location. With its glass-clad spire and 43,800 square metres of floor space, the Pyramide remains the most distinctive shape on the Marzahn skyline and a textbook example of optimistic 1990s office speculation. Inside, public agencies and tech firms occupy the floors; from any S-Bahn train heading to Lichtenberg the building still reads like a postcard from another architectural decade.
