Love Valley (Aşıklar Vadisi) Trail - North Gate

The Aşıklar Vadisi — Love Valley — is a hiking corridor on the northern edge of Göreme in the heart of Cappadocia, famous for its dense clusters of tall, columnar fairy chimneys carved from volcanic tuff. The formations took millions of years to develop: eruptions from nearby Mount Erciyes and Mount Hasan blanketed the plateau in ash that compressed into soft tuff, which wind and water then eroded away beneath harder basalt caps. The trail runs from the north gate through the valley floor and links via side routes to Rose Valley and White Valley, forming part of Cappadocia's most popular multi-valley hiking circuit. The path is manageable for most fitness levels and takes between two and four hours at a relaxed pace. Late-afternoon light turns the cream-coloured rock columns deep amber, making the route a favourite among photographers and couples.
