Adana Büyükşehir Belediyesi Sinema Müzesi
Also known as: Adana Cinema Museum
The Adana Metropolitan Municipality Cinema Museum traces the history of Turkish cinema with a pointed focus on the city's own outsized contribution to the art form. Yılmaz Güney — director of the 1982 Palme d'Or winner 'Yol' — was born in Adana and features prominently, but the museum extends well beyond him to document the many actors, directors and producers the region has produced. Exhibits include vintage cameras, period film equipment, costumes and memorabilia spanning decades of Turkish film and television. The museum is compact and easily visited in under an hour, with admission priced at just a few lira — making it one of the more accessible cultural stops in the city.
