Adana Kalesi

Adana Kalesi is what remains of Adana's medieval city castle — which today amounts to little more than a fragment of wall tucked between modern buildings. Historical accounts and old engravings depict a fortification that once enclosed several of the city's districts including Tepebağ and Ulucami. The surviving remnants are neither protected nor clearly marked: visitors report scattered litter around the fragment and a near-total absence of conservation measures. Anyone seeking the site should expect not a castle but a quiet, neglected trace of a city's layered past.
