Çanakkale Archaeological Museum

The Çanakkale Archaeological Museum on Atatürk Caddesi housed finds from across the Troad region in northwestern Turkey, including artifacts excavated directly from Troy — the Bronze Age settlement immortalised in Homer's Iliad. Opened in 1984, its collection documented the nine successive settlement layers that make the site one of the most studied archaeological locations in the ancient world. The museum closed in 2018; visitors should verify current status before planning a trip.
