Ardgowan Castle

Ardgowan Castle, also known as Inverkip Castle, is a roofless three-storey tower ruin on the grounds of Ardgowan House, perched on the shores of the Firth of Clyde in Renfrewshire, Scotland. Listed as a Category B historic building by Historic Scotland, the structure dates to the medieval period, its thick rubble masonry typical of Scottish tower-house construction. Precise build dates have not been recorded, but the layout suggests a late-medieval defensive residence associated with the Shaw and later Stewart families of Renfrewshire.
