Frankfurt Höchst Farbwerke station

Frankfurt-Höchst Farbwerke station opened in 1967 as a dedicated halt for workers at the Farbwerke Hoechst chemical complex — one of the largest chemical plants in the Rhine-Main region and a successor to the firm that helped pioneer the synthetic dye industry. The station's name has outlived the plant itself: after successive mergers, Hoechst became part of Sanofi, and large-scale production at the site largely wound down. S-Bahn lines S1 and S2 still stop here; the former dye works are now a technology and commercial campus.
