The Senckenberg Natural History Museum, situated on the Bockenheimer Anlage in Frankfurt's Westend district, ranks among Germany's largest natural history museums and holds one of Europe's most significant fossil collections. Founded in 1817 by the Senckenberg Natural Research Society, the neoclassical building took its current form in the early twentieth century. The permanent exhibition is anchored by life-size dinosaur skeletons — including a fully mounted Diplodocus and a Triceratops — dominating the central hall. Extensive galleries cover mineralogy, marine biology, and evolutionary history, reflecting the museum's active research mission alongside its public role. Temporary exhibitions on topics like species extinction keep the programme current, and the museum remains one of the Frankfurt region's most visited destinations for school groups and families.

One of Europe's largest natural-history museums, with a Diplodocus skeleton at the entrance.
