Uetliberg

The Üetliberg is Zürich's local mountain at 870 metres, reachable from the main station in about 25 minutes on the S10 suburban train. From the summit observation tower, the view stretches across Lake Zürich, the Glarus Alps, and on clear days to the Säntis massif. The Planetenweg — a scale-model solar system trail — winds from the summit down to Felsenegg and makes for a popular family walk. In winter the slopes serve as toboggan runs; in summer the well-marked trail network draws runners and mountain bikers from across the city. A mountain restaurant at the top serves daily, offering Zürich regional dishes alongside panoramic views of the city below.
