Air Albania Stadium
Tirana
local gems
Tirana rewards curious visitors with spots that go beyond the obvious. A walk along Bulevardi Dëshmorët e Kombit leads to quietly impressive mosques — the Et'hem Bey Mosque, the Bazaar Mosque, the Clock Mosque and the Fatih Mosque each carry their own distinct character. The Botanical Garden offers a calm retreat within the city, while Farka Lake provides a more relaxed escape on the outskirts. The Air Albania Stadium and Arena Egnatia reflect the city's sporting culture, and spaces like Citypark Albania and the Great Mosque of Tirana show how the capital continues to shape its own identity.

Farka Lake lies in the south-east of Tirana, where the city gives way to the hilly landscape of the former Komuna Farka. At around 75 hectares it is larger than the artificial lake in the capital's Grand Park — and considerably quieter. It is fed by a small stream dammed by an embankment some 300 metres long at the southern end. The lake is up to two kilometres long and 700 metres wide. The shoreline has developed into a popular excursion destination for Tirana residents: restaurants and small cafés have sprung up, fishing is possible, and in summer families come here to walk and swim. Farka Lake offers a green lung on the doorstep of the Albanian capital.
