Benromach Distillery

Benromach is a whisky distillery in Forres, Moray, founded in 1898 and one of the smaller working distilleries in the Speyside region. After decades of closure, independent bottler Gordon & MacPhail acquired the site in 1993 and restarted production in 1998, exactly on the distillery's centenary. The original maltings building is listed as a Category B historic structure, lending the site an authentic late-Victorian industrial character. Visitors can join guided tours through the production facilities and sample expressions in the on-site shop — Benromach is known for a peatier, more robust profile than many of its Speyside neighbours.
