Batterie de Bois d'Arcy
Film History
The Cineteca di Bologna is one of Europe's most respected film archives and cinematheques, operating as an independent municipal institution since 1995. Founded in 1963, it built its international reputation largely through its film restoration laboratory, where classics from Chaplin to Pasolini have been painstakingly restored frame by frame. A founding member of the Association des Cinémathèques Européennes and a FIAF member since 1989, it connects archives across the globe. Visitors can attend regular retrospectives and silent film screenings with live musical accompaniment at the affiliated Cinema Lumière — a place where film history is not merely preserved but actively brought back to life.
