Martinstor
City GateCity FortificationCity History+2
The Enderttor is the most imposing of the three surviving medieval city gates in Cochem, positioned at the northern edge of the town where the road once led out toward the Enderttal valley. Together with the Martinstor and the Balduinstor, it is one of the last standing remnants of Cochem's medieval defensive ring and is protected as a listed cultural monument. The heavy stone gatehouse conveys the scale of fortification that a prosperous Moselle town once required. Passing through the arch today, visitors follow the exact route that merchants and travellers have used for centuries.
