Alt-Wülflingen Castle
Alt-Wülflingen Castle is the remnant of a medieval hilltop fortification set on a wooded ridge within the city limits of Winterthur, canton of Zürich. It is classified as a cultural asset of national importance and protected under cantonal heritage law. The sparse historical record of its founding and lords adds to the site's atmospheric, half-forgotten quality — only substantial masonry ruins remain standing amid the forest. Hiking trails connect the ruin to the surrounding landscape, and the elevated position offers open views across the Winterthur hills, making it a quiet half-day destination away from the city center.
