Ghar Id-Dud

Ghar Id-Dud — Maltese for "Worm's Cave" — is a small natural limestone cavity set into the seafront promenade of Sliema. The name refers to its formation: centuries of coastal erosion and the slow boring action of marine organisms through soft Maltese limestone shaped these hollows over time. Entry to the cave steps is currently closed to visitors, leaving little to see from ground level. It functions mainly as a passing curiosity for walkers along Sliema's busy waterfront promenade, with no admission fee.
