Ramazanoğlu Medresesi

Also known as: Ramazanoğlu Madrasa

The Ramazanoğlu Medrese is an Ottoman-era Koranic school in central Adana, built by the Ramazanoğlu dynasty that ruled the Çukurova plain from the 14th to the 16th century. As a centre of Islamic education it served generations of scholars before falling out of its original function after the dynasty's decline. The restored stone building now operates as an accessible historic monument: a tea stand and a handful of small shops occupy its arcaded courtyard, making it an unhurried stop for a glass of çay or a Turkish coffee. Visitors praise its calm atmosphere amid the city's bustle, though the garden is noted as somewhat neglected. The site rewards a short visit rather than an extended stay.
