Ramazanoğlu Konağı

The Ramazanoğlu Konağı is a late-Ottoman mansion nestled within the Ulucami mosque complex in Adana's Seyhan district. An inscription above its entrance dates the building to 1495, commissioned by Ramazanoğlu Halil Bey of the Ramazanogulları dynasty — a powerful Anatolian bey lineage that controlled the fertile Çukurova plain for generations before Ottoman central authority absorbed the region. The konağı's rooms have been converted into a small history museum, with each space dedicated to a different era of Adana's past and furnished with local artefacts and exhibits. Visitors consistently note the quiet, contemplative courtyard as an unexpected retreat in the old town — a spot for tea or coffee that contrasts with the busier streetscape outside. Entrance is modest in price, making it one of the more rewarding stops on any tour of central Adana's historical sites.
