Tarihi Kazancılar Çarşısı

The Tarihi Kazancılar Çarşısı — Historic Coppersmiths' Bazaar — is one of Adana's last functioning artisan quarters, taking its name from the kazancılar, the copper and brass smiths who have worked here since Ottoman times. Visitors can still watch craftsmen shape metal by hand while browsing stalls stacked with handmade soaps, aromatic spices, and textiles from a city long regarded as one of Turkey's foremost weaving and tailoring centers. The bazaar is equally known for its ciğer restaurants, where grilled lamb liver seasoned in the Adana style is a deeply local tradition — Ciğerci Memet is a frequently cited favorite among regulars. With a clientele that remains overwhelmingly local rather than tourist-driven, the market retains an everyday authenticity that sets it apart from more commercialized bazaars.
