Pashaba Valeri

Also known as: 妖精の煙突ライトトレイル

Paşabağ Valley sits a few kilometers northwest of Göreme in the heart of Cappadocia and is best known for its well-formed fairy chimneys — columns of soft volcanic tuff shaped over millennia by rain and wind erosion. Several of these rock pillars sport multiple stacked caps, a geological rarity that sets the valley apart from other formations in the region. Early medieval monks carved some of the columns into hermit cells; the most prominent is associated with Saint Simeon the Younger. Marked hiking trails wind through the valley today, and the formations are particularly atmospheric in the early morning or late afternoon light.
