The Valletta Waterfront occupies a row of early 18th-century warehouses along Pinto Wharf in the Grand Harbour, originally built by the Knights of St John to supply their fleet. The baroque sandstone facades were carefully converted into a promenade of restaurants, bars and cafés, preserving the rhythm of the original arched bays. The site doubles as Valletta's active cruise terminal — large ships berth directly in front of the historic arcades, creating an unusual mix of maritime bustle and leisurely waterfront dining. Evening is the most atmospheric time to visit, when warm light plays across the facades and the fortification walls of Senglea and Birgu rise across the harbour.
