Hattersheim (Main) station stands on the historic Taunus Railway between Frankfurt and Wiesbaden and is protected as a heritage monument (Kulturdenkmal) of the state of Hesse. The neoclassicist station building reflects the civic ambition of early railway architecture. Today it is one of two S-Bahn stops in the town of Hattersheim am Main, classified by Deutsche Bahn as a category 4 station.
